By treating the word with so much unintended reverence, they've further publicized what they wish to be ignored, and given the issue more weight than it may be deserves. Sorry to be the party pooper my dear, but “whitey” doesn't carry with it anywhere near the painful implications and history that the n-word does. Ledsen att vara den part pooper min kära, men "vit man" inte bära med sig någonstans i närheten av smärtsamma konsekvenser och historia som n-ordet inte. Considering that whites (myself one of them) make more money, have more political influence, maintain a societal upper-hand, and overall systematically control this and many other first-world countries, “whitey” hardly registers as a true insult. Med tanke på det vita (själv en av dem) att tjäna mer pengar, mer politiskt inflytande, underhålla samhällets övre sidan, och övergripande systematiskt kontrollera detta och många andra första länderna i världen, "vit man" knappt registrerar sig som en riktig förolämpning.
Sort of how calling Donald Trump “richy” wouldn't exactly sting. Sortera på hur ringer Donald Trump "richy" skulle inte exakt sting.
