I never got them as a child, I was too young, but older kids who were into the classic era of hip hop music - 1986 to 1995 - considered these absolutely necessary for DJing and such. I think Grandmaster Flash still wears these when he DJ's at events in NYC's Webster Hall and Roseland. I shit you not. They are the same Porsche Design that fold up. Mine were smoke grey and black.
