Using
So I live in LA, one of the few international cities crowded with space –
I still dig a single-room, hyper-basic bachelorette pad: matcha green tea alone in the cupboard, books the only decoration, and a floor-length mirror opposite a daybed. Minimalist daybeds — like this Christian Liagre daybed “Autan” — are choice: they’re like a small sports car, a luxuriously lazy lack of consideration for anyone else’s comfort.
Plus, a piece like this is perfect when you work at home in your underwear and heels all day…

Wanting
I worship at the altar of minimalism — patterns, accessories, buckles, and buttons have all been sacrificed — but I love the texture of draping, the sensuality of shadows, the subtle richness of a little excess fabric.
That, and wearing dead animals, which is why I dig this Vince zipper leather jacket.
Its paper thin leather means I’ll end up petting myself all night…

I hate zippers as decoration — even when they’re used for function, I prefer them hidden.
But I’m a sucker for these Givenchy zipper sandals‘ almost Cuban heel.
It exaggerates an ambitious arch so perfectly — check out the Givenchy shoes I’m wearing, riding my nav — and their geometry looks good against the “O”-shaped zipper pull…

With their bizarre garter strap, Prada lug-sole boots remind me of the few times I’ve read Twitter.

Wanting
Justifying something as practical is usually a sign of compromising one’s values.
I’d know, that’s how I’m telling myself that these Camilla Skovgaard over-the-knee lug sole boots are worth wanting, when they’re really rather victim.
As for why I think a 4.5″, $800, over-the-knee boot is practical is another set of issues, one of them being that I have higher taste than most people.
I know, everyday I’m learning to deal with this…

So I listen to too much Jay-Z.
Months ago, I had a pinkie ring planned: a white gold square up to my little knuckle, with a “K” lightly hand-etched on.
And then I saw this photo of Coco Chanel.
Of course…
