Using
I’m that chick who wears her full face — smoky eyes, NARS “Super Orgasm” blush, Neutrogena SPF 20 lip gloss, eyebrow gel, porcelain powder foundation — to the gym, to the grocery store, to a deliciously private Desert Hot Springs resort. I’ve been wearing the same face since high school, so I know how to apply it to last (the trick? Layers of powder foundation as an eyeshadow base). So I thought a makeup finish spray by Skindinavia would be fun to try, but hardly impressive. Wrong. The makeup finish spray made my face last more than 24 hours — it slept perfectly through pillow play, so I could get up early and start sweating.
You know, at the gym…

Staying
Noted for its therapeutic mineral waters, Sagewater Spa‘s pools are best at night. Filled by nearby mineral springs that steam at a steady 90°F, walking into the pool feels like melting into the desert air. The sky is as black as the desert valley rolling below the resort’s windowed walls, and the air and sand blend together, one lit by galaxies’ lightbulbs, the other by electric stars marking the personal universe of a kitchen. With just a dry breeze to whisper at me, I feel like I’m in the middle of an ocean of nowhere, the pool the prow of my ship.
Plus, Sagewater Spa greeted me with home-baked coffee cake that even The Los Angeles Times raves about…

Wearing
I called Intermix boutiques in various timezones before I located this choice Brighton wool jersey racerback jumpsuit, in black, sized petite.
A more wearable version of the cashmere jumpsuits I was lusting for, this Brighton wool jersey jumpsuit is hard to get a hold of, maybe because its wool jersey wears better than air, and it’s on sale for $99, with an extra 25% off in store.
Get Brighton’s racerback jumpsuit in all three colors. I snagged the charcoal version at Malibu’s Country Mart, and it’s perfect for lying around a pool in Desert Hot Springs…

Forgive me for having gone missing.
I didn’t slip into a Tofurky coma (I have a Thanksgiving tradition of forgetting it’s Thanksgiving until I try to order lunch). I was busy polishing my latest project, Bella Bellanca.
I wrote Bella Bellanca more than three years ago, but I just rediscovered it. Bella Bellanca is an Italian teen who moves to New York so her ex-model mom can start her own clothing line. Bellanca’s life changes when she bumps into someone wearing a memorable piece from her online vintage jewelry store, Bellanca’s Jewelry Box.
Bella Bellanca will be serialized on Facebook, and while you read it you can buy hand-picked vintage jewelry from Bellanca’s Jewelry Box.
Check it out: facebook.com/BELLABELLANCA
I’d love to know what you think.
XXXO,
K

Wanting
Made of plum satin, waisted with black chiffon, and finished with a triangular peephole in the back, this Brulee open-back teddy is a choice piece for special occasions.
Like the rare time I feel the need to get dressed up for work at home, such as this Thursday, when I’ll enjoy Thai takeout at my desk.
It’s this level of dedication to professionalism that’s kept me from firing myself over the years…

Hating
This Brulee boyfriend shirt vibes like my made-to-measure, KD-monogrammed shirt dress: it’s so sexy because it’s hard to tell if it’s a shirt dress or your boyfriend’s shirt.
So why the hate?
It vibes just like my made-to-measure, KD-monogrammed shirt dress…

Wearing
So I’ve realized a $2,000 vintage Halston cashmere jumpsuit is ridiculous as loungewear for a plane.
But a neon pink Stella McCartney cashmere jumpsuit? So practical, so choice…
