Wanting:

A gentleman’s valet in a chick’s boudoir is such subtle sex, and I like imagining a silk knit tie dangling off this Jacques Adnet valet, a Rolex tucked in it and ticking like a metronome, while, strewn across its base, the feathers of marabou slippers tremble in time.
Even though it’s sculpted in red leather, this Jacques Adnet valet is quiet and calm, but the things it should see…

So this isn’t the exact one I’m using. But I bought an identical sculptural 1950′s Italia valet from eBay for less than $200. Don’t hate me…

Gorgeous, only clothes would constantly be slipping off this INSILVIS “Caress” valet stand.
But when I phrase it that way, really, what’s to hate…

When most of the beauty of this world is contained in my mind’s eye — and an iPhone — , there’s not much point to getting physical with anything. Rhett Butler’s “My dear…” sounds the same in my head whether the words are printed or not, I see the Joker crash Bruce Wayne’s penthouse party as clearly on an iPad or a movie screen, and a dollar bill feels more like Monopoly money than Paypal or plastic.
Few things have more literal than figurative weight.
But one of them is Chase’s JP Morgan Palladium card…

Wanting:

There’s a fine line between taste and tasteless, and in a minimalist uniform of silk jersey tank dresses, custom shawl-collar coats, and slip-on heels, while wearing the same burgundy bobbed hair for years, I plainly dance on it.
As does this 1970′s purse phone by Dallas Handbags, but in a completely different way.
I love imagining plugging this 70′s purse phone into a random jack to phone you; I might have to swap out my vintage Hermes bags for this faux croc monster…

Using:

I wanted a 1930′s Art Deco rotary wall phone to hang in my 1929 Spanglish flat, which has a phone line dedicated to the doorman. While this Art Deco wall telephone was rewired to work with a modern phone jack, I still had to buy a Dialgizmo pulse-to-tone phone converter, which converts the pulse dialing from an old rotary phone to DTMF tones compatible with modern lines. Once I hooked Dialgizmo up, the 1930′s Art Deco rotary wall phone worked perfectly. (“Car, please…”)
I still haven’t figured out how to get any apps on it yet, though…
