Hi, Kristopher,
As my job search begins, so does my search for the perfect interview outfit. I’m trying for a professional look with a fun, fresh twist that says, “You better snatch me up before I get away.” Suggestions?
-Catherine
You could rock a little black dress with “You better snatch me up before I get away” spray-painted on it, maybe in an elegant cursive.
Your K has found that being direct in life is highly underrated.
But if you’re more for showing you’d make a great hire at a fashion firm than yelling so, start with a haute heel that’ll make you watch your walk, poise your posture, and straighten your stance.
Like a Fendi B peep toe. Fendi’s B shoe is spotless white like your reputation, Fendi B heels are tall like your ambition, Fendi B shoe’s buckle is fresh like your outlook. So mignon with a simple LBD and red croco clutch -
They’d also rock right when you girl about town to celebrate your new job.

I’m looking for an affordable tote for rotation to fit binders and what not in it… Nothing dowdy and old. It has to be leather AND affordable… Am I asking for too much? What have you got for me, Kristopher?
- Christine, Boston
You’re not asking for too much, doll.
Boss ladies go after it all.
And boss ladies also deliver.
So check your answer: a mignon Marc-y Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, on sale for $265. Large enough to carry your all from school-time laptop to overnight necessities, this Marc by Marc Jacobs bag’s classic black and soft shape will graduate as quickly as you from 9 (p.m.) to 5 (a.m.) study session to 9 (a.m.) to 5 (p.m.) job research.

I have a nude corset/bustier dress with black lace that covers it (second skin!) I was wondering how to accessorize. I know it is probably best with only earrings and one bracelet, but WHAT KIND OF EARRINGS!!??
- Erica
You’re right - keep your accessories simple, so the focus shines on your hot little body and its second skin lace.
Pull back your hair in a very loose chignon, slip on a pair of diamond studs, and cuff yourself with this rhinestone “V” Versace bracelet.
Rock your black satin d’Orsay pumps, and -
Voila, doll. Now you’re spelling S-E-X.

I love wearing high-waisted skirts at the moment - but how would I wear a jacket/sweater with one in winter? A normal length jacket would obviously cover up the high waist, but on the other hand a cropped jacket would look out of proportion!
- Karina
A cropped jacket would actually be perfectly in proportion, doll. And if your high-waisted skirt’s a skinny pencil of a thing, a cropped swing coat or capelet would bring balance to your long, thin bottom.
If you don’t like to rock such an exaggerated look, though -
Find me in a beaded cocktail dress, too-tall heels, and a smoky eye in the AM at Starbucks.
- Your K gets it.

K Dukes, you seem like a girl who has most everything she wants, so I ask, what do I get for a girl who has everything she wants, and just purchsed a $2K+ LV for herself (for an early Christmas gift)! Ah! I am stumped! Also, money is no object for this little lady. So what to do!?
- VaFashionista
No lady, no matter how mignon, no matter how chic and plump her purse is, ever has enough soy lattes. Buy her a Starbucks gift card.
Excuse me a second, doll, I need to turn off my espresso machine.
Back.
You could also gift her something more one-of-a-kind, something not mass made by Monsieur Louis Vuitton, Mr. Marc-y Marc Jacobs, or the like. Check this Tu-Anh kimono clutch, which is as fingerprint-unique you and your girl’s friendship, as it’s made from a vintage obi belt.

Hey, Kris! Love the blog. How ’bout advice on wearing a black satin bubble skirt? I don’t wanna look costumey… Thanks.
Em
Life, love, is all about balance.
So forget any sort of tunic or loose blouse on top of that bubble skirt, and opt instead for a slinky, second-skin top. Your black bubble skirt would rock right with a simple, ballerina leotard tucked into it. I dig this white scoop neck and back leotard ($14).
Let the volume of your bubble skirt stretch your legs long by slipping on some skyscraper heels, like these lace-up, lacey Marc-y Marc by Marc Jacobs pumps ($179).
Go get your holiday party on.

Hey, Kristopher. I love your blog. I love your sense of style. So, I was wondering if you could help me out with a little problem. I just bought these denim skirt overalls, and I don’t exactly know what to wear with them. So, I was hoping you could give me ideas on like what tops would look good and what kind of shoes I should wear. Or should I just put them away till summer time?
I’m of the School of Rock Whatever Flatters You and Makes You Smile. Which is why you’ll catch me coffee shop’ing in velvet platforms and a beaded cocktail dress.
So let’s get your overalls on.

So everyone and their mother and their mother’s second cousin living in SoHo are sporting an ankle boot this fall.
Fashion bloggette Karina wants to know how to rock this ruched Report ankle boot without falling back on retro 80’s obvious.
The easy chic? Slip on cigarette pants or skinny jeans, a breezy tunic, and light capelet.
The fresh classic? Sport your fav little black dress, slip on some ribbed black tights, and rock the teal ankle boot like an alternative to pumps.

Kristopher, I love your blog. I was just reading the advice you gave Sam and being a 16 year old girl of 5′11 I wanted to know if you had any tips for dressing tall. I weigh about 130 pounds, so I’m very petite which has turned out to be more of a burden then a blessing… I can never find clothes that fit my non-exsistant hips and tops that dont emphasize the fact that the boob gene just passed me by. Don’t even get me started on the issue of finding cute shoes with size 11 feet that aren’t the exact same Hermes ballet flats that I’ve gone through… Also, is it bad to wear heels when you sort of tower over most people? Help me, Kristopher!
Too tall for fashion,
Lexy
Ooh la love, I always wished I was super model tall like you.
And I’d still rock five-inch heels.
Or at least some modest wooden wedges, a la these woven leather Kenneth Cole New York shoes ($315), sized 11, love.
These Kenneth Cole New York shoes would rock right with a swing dress - all twiggy and leggy, you’re one of the few ladies who can really pull off blooming volume. I say spend the fall highlighting your legs for miles with painted-on jeans and loose, layered tunics.
