Some seasons I like ridiculously thick, drama-lady brows, a la Audrey Hepburn, and I’ll draw on 25% bigger brows with a No. 2 pencil. But lately I’ve been digging a more natural brow, and Physician’s Formula Brow Definer Automatic Brow Pencil in blonde-beige does the trick. It’s the perf shade, whether or not — I’m hoping not — your hair’s blonde-beige.

Otherwise, you can use a brow pencil that’s one shade darker than your natural hair color, fill any gaps in your brows with featherlight strokes that mimic individual hairs, then carefully take your brow pencil and scrawl “I OVER-PLUCKED MY EYEBROWS” on your forehead.

Making my makeup last through a flight to Europe is not a problem (staying unconscious is). But I impressed myself with my new makeup record: I fell asleep at Le Meurice while watching The Sopranos — a sexy night in Paris, oui — , woke up a few hours later, reapplied Shiseido Sun Protection Liquid Foundation, and worked my smoky eye for until bedtime.

Here’s how you get an 18-hour smoky eye with Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream Eye Shadow…

- Use Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream Eye Shadow (shade #13) as a base, applying one sheer coat from your lash line to your brow. (Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream Eye Shadow goes on best if you apply it on a brush, using little circles.)

- Apply Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream Eye Shadow (shade #2) from your lash line to a little above the crease of your eyelid.

- Blend Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream Eye Shadow (shade #1) in the crease of your eyelid.

- Apply another layer of Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream Eye Shadow (shade #13) all over your eyelid, from the corner of your eyes to your pupil. (This will prevent your eyeshadow from creasing.)

And, like, voila.

So I haven’t actually tried Organix Coconut Milk Leave-In Nourishing Milk. Maybe it works as well as organic coconut oil for your hair.

I mean, I do get five servings of fruit out of a package of Fruit Roll-Ups.

My hair stylist Sally Saito turned me onto Moroccanoil before it was cool, but I’ve ditched it in favor of organic coconut oil (yep, the same you’d cook with. And I mean you — I don’t cook). A rain drop-sized amount of coconut oil kills frizz better than Moroccanoil (or too-heavy, ancient-beauty-secret argan oil, which is Moroccanoil’s marketing magic ingredient [their real secret sauce is cosmetic-grade silocones]).

Organic coconut oil has been proven to penetrate your hair’s cuticle like no other conditioner, makes a great body and face moisturizer during winter, and my German Shedder Shepherd Major Dukes eats it to keep his hair glossy.

The only way I’d feel better about using organic coconut oil for my hair is if it cost $199 a jar. Paying $9.99 for a hair product is just ridick…
