Wanting

Don’t tell vintage boutique Decades, but someone’s flipping their vintage Hermes Collier de Chien/Medor belt on Craigslist.
You can ask me later why I was crawling Craigslist for Hermes. Meanwhile, you can just thank me for finding this vintage Hermes Collier de Chien/Medor belt for $1,750. I don’t bother with belts — I don’t even bother with a bra — but I dig that ’60s patina and the extra-thick weight of this vintage Hermes belt.
As for whether to believe this vintage Hermes Craigslisting–please. Everyone’s honest on the Internet. Color me gullible? Yeah, right. I’m a savvy 18-year-old who just snagged an aUtHeNtiC Birkin for $1,999…

Kristopher writes post titles in the third person?
Flattering and disturbing: my likeness is being used to pimp “discount” Loubies.
Of course, I’m sure Classic-Louboutin.com would blush to know I’m actually wearing Givenchy heels…
(Thanks for the tip off, Vee.)

Wearing
While I lived in New York, freelancing as a writer and finishing up a BA in Pseudo-Intellectual Masturbation, I had a zoo of vintage fur muffs: sheared rabbit dyed to look like leopard, choco mink, and the wildest wiry black pelt, all lined in satin and interior pockets. Fur muffs are genius: why fumble with gloves and a bag when you could slip in and out of something so chic?
I dig this Sang A fox fur muff for its form and function, though I’m back in Hollywood, where it’s considered a stay-at-home snow day if it rains…

Hating
I remind myself that these neon pink Giuseppe Zanotti mules must be better made than the stripper shoes on Hollywood Blvd. that sell for a fraction of the price.
But that just makes these Giuseppe Zanotti mules more offensive…

Wanting
Steve Jobs has his black mock turtleneck, stone-washed 501s, and gray New Balances; Anna Wintour her bronde bob, Chanel sunnies, and pin-thin heels; Karl Largerfeld his charcoal suit, biker gloves, and winter white ponytail.
And me, when I bother to get dressed?
A burgundy bob, silk jersey tank dress, “K” signet pinky ring, Hermes bag, and stiletto slides, like these Giuseppe Zanotti white leather mules.
Consistency is underrated…

You could play safe, loop your life around a comfortable circle: settle for a mate, for a nine-to-five, for what everyone supposes everyone else wants.
Or you could play passionately, build a life of real right angles: menage with men and women who inspire you, climb ambitious heights on a self-styled ladder, make your own world of unique beauty.
So pick: mom jeans and getting belted into boring, or this Missoni lattice belt barely caging your creativity.
One’s risque and risky.
One’s plain scary.
