I just snagged these Giuseppe Zanotti rubber wedge boots on eBay. With a pebbled rubber wedge and fur lining, these’ll be perfect for Sundance–and those 72°F and sunny December days in LA.

I remind myself that these neon pink Giuseppe Zanotti mules must be better made than the stripper shoes on Hollywood Blvd. that sell for a fraction of the price.

These Giuseppe Zanotti blue satin mules are choice: they’re low-maintenance minimalist, and in blue satin they remind me of a jazz baby’s boudoir slippers…

Steve Jobs has his black mock turtleneck, stone-washed 501s, and gray New Balances; Anna Wintour her bronde bob, Chanel sunnies, and pin-thin heels; Karl Largerfeld his charcoal suit, biker gloves, and winter white ponytail.

And me, when I bother to get dressed?

A burgundy bob, silk jersey tank dress, “K” signet pinky ring, Hermes bag, and stiletto slides, like these Giuseppe Zanotti white leather mules.

Consistency is underrated…

I hate zippers as decoration — even when they’re used for function, I prefer them hidden.

But I’m a sucker for these Givenchy zipper sandals‘ almost Cuban heel.

It exaggerates an ambitious arch so perfectly — check out the Givenchy shoes I’m wearing, riding my nav — and their geometry looks good against the “O”-shaped zipper pull…

Hating

With their bizarre garter strap, Prada lug-sole boots remind me of the few times I’ve read Twitter.

Wanting

Justifying something as practical is usually a sign of compromising one’s values.

I’d know, that’s how I’m telling myself that these Camilla Skovgaard over-the-knee lug sole boots are worth wanting, when they’re really rather victim.

As for why I think a 4.5″, $800, over-the-knee boot is practical is another set of issues, one of them being that I have higher taste than most people.
