Wanting
This vintage Halston deep V-neck one-piece is the inverse of a bikini: instead of tiny triangles patched over a few erogenous zones, your torso’s completely covered except for a few triangular slices of skin that feel deeply revealing in comparison to how little else is shown. And that’s infinitely sexier. Check Michelle Pfieffer’s one-piece in Scarface‘s pool scene and tell me I’m wrong.
Wearing this Halston deep V-neck one-piece in Honolulu may be the only thing that could have improved my holiday of empty porcelain beaches, sushi alive moments before it met my plate, and scoring never-worn crocodile pumps for a Benjie…

Wanting
I tried convincing myself this’d be perfect for planes, but somehow stripping down to a vintage Halston cashmere jumpsuit to walk through security doesn’t seem more appropriate than a slip of a silk jersey tank dress.
And then I’d have to peel this off in a flying bus bathroom.
Give me a couple of days and I’ll manage to rationalize why I need a museum-quality, Halston cashmere catsuit. Maybe Sundance…

Hating
I’m so bummed this Halston ultrasuede shirt dress and its matching hat and bag are sold, though the likelihood of me covering my bobbed hair or trading my Kelly bag to wear either is low. Sometimes I want to buy beautiful things just so other people who appreciate them less can’t have them; instead of giving away or selling old clothes sometimes I just shred them to pieces.
It’s a good thing I generally don’t like pets…

Wanting
I’m very vain, but I’m very lazy, which is why I stick to my uniform: smoky eyes, burgundy bob, silk jersey tank dress, Kelly bag, and satin slippers. Done.
Still, lately I’m loving Halston’s iconic ultrasuede shirt dresses — I’m a sucker for sexy texture, and ultrasuede is easier to clean than the slew of made-to-order dresses I’m always feeding sushi to.
This lavender Halston ultrasuede shirtdress is sitting at the Met, but there’s a choice purple Halston ultrasuede skirt suit on sale…

Wearing:
I’ve had a Norma Kamali-like shawl-collar wrap coat made into a different color for every season: chocolate tropical wool, blue sueded cotton, gray winter wool, etc…
But I’m eying this choice Halston ultrasuede robe coat.
You’re right, I need another minimalist wrap coat like I need another hand-etched, “K” initial pinky ring.
I’m buying it…
