Wanting
This Alexander Wang draped back top is a calm lavender, but the naked back it frames is still stimulating. Maybe it’s our desensitization to the Hollywood Hills’ hills, maybe it’s the vulnerability of an open back, or maybe it’s just the charm of admiring a woman who’s both wildly revealing and a faceless stranger.
And maybe I should just buy this Alexander Wang draped back top…

Hating
The draped back on this Juicy Couture cropped sweatshirt is surprising, but only because it’s jarringly out of context.
What’s sexy about poorly fitting gym gear?
Apparently something, with the right label: a twice-the-price Alexander Wang draped back sweatshirt is sold out…

Wearing
My closet’s pretty clear: made-to-order “KD” monogrammed shirt dresses, a rainbow of solid silk jersey racerback tank dresses (I just had one made in lavender), and plenty of satin slippers…
Consistency is underrated.
But I do like great surprises: something truly unexpected, though it feels fated. Like the backless blouses I started collecting. I especially love this Halston draped back top I bought in pewter: its high necklace melts into its blooming, body-skimming shape — which flutters open into a flash of naked back.
Endings are so important…

Hating
I’m such a sucker for simple, draping shapes. So why the hate for this NormaKamalibay shawl collar coat? I’m having a hard time clicking buy, since I’ve had a similar shawl-collared wrap coat copied into three different colors: chocolate tropical wool, bright white cotton, and a blue sueded cotton.
Wait, you’re right — I don’t own it in gray terry yet…

Wanting
I almost only sport dresses less because I’m a prissy Krissi, and more because I’m a Kristopher: wearing one piece of clothing is easier. So I’m also a sucker for jumpsuits, though I don’t own many — most of them vibe too victim. But I dig this NormaKamalibay “Rectangle” jumpsuit‘s kimono sleeves and slash neckline.
Should I just get it? Like every piece of the NormaKamalibay collection, it’s under $300…

Hating
I stick to solid, simple clothes. Patterns are too memorable, and seem obvious compared to the subtle richness of textures and volume.
I’m a sucker for draped fabric, for dresses that hint at your body instead of acting like a second-skin –
But could this Richard Nicoll silk T-shirt dress be less flattering…

Wanting
I love this T by Alexander Wang T-shirt dress — it vibes like an oversized T, only it’s formed more flattering with slightly slouching shoulders and a boatneck instead of a crew neck.
As soon as this T by Alexander Wang T-shirt dress arrives, I’ll hit up International Silks & Woolens and get some silk jersey to have this T-shirt dress copied into…

Wearing
I’m over VOGUE‘ing, I’ve got no appetite for fleeting fashion. There’s little left to edit out of my closet: I only sport a silk jersey tank dress I’ve had made into a billion different colors, a hooded, shawl-neck coat in cotton or wool, and either an Hermes Kelly Danse or an Hermes Herbag (a Birkin’s boring). The only thing I’ve been lusting for, besides having a few more shirt dresses made, is a T-shirt dress I can copy into silk.
Unfortunately, it must be in this fashion to be over fashion, because everyone is pimping a silk T-shirt dress, including Urban Outfitters…
